British School in Colombo shines at Mathematical Olympiad

The British School in Colombo (BSC) came out with flying colours as they won a number of gold, silver and bronze medals at the Southeast Asian Mathematical Olympiad (SEAMO) held at the Bali International Convention Centre in Indonesia recently. In the Champions Division, British Schools’ Dehan Samaraweera secured a gold medal while in the Open Division Rylie Perera managed to bag a Credit Award.

The Champions Division Grade 2 was dominated by gold medallists Thiveyn Kumarage, Nisara Malwatta and Athreya Sivahar while Ananya Krishanthan won a gold medal in the Champions Division Grade 3. Over 20,000 competitors from more than 20 countries and regions participated in this event and it was a fantastic opportunity for the BSC students to challenge minds, build confidence and to shine on a global stage.
