Monday, 8th of September 2025

Times School of Higher Education has made a significant contribution to the community by launching an awareness programme on the Cambridge Linguaskill. This initiative commenced at Science College in Mt. Lavinia, where students and staff warmly welcomed the Times University team. The Cambridge Linguaskill programme is a globally recognised English proficiency test that evaluates reading, writing, listening, and speaking skills through a fast, reliable, and convenient online format.

It is aligned with the widely accepted Common European Framework of Reference (CEFR), enabling students, professionals, and institutions to accurately measure language proficiency. During the session, the team from Times School of Higher Education highlighted the extensive advantages of the Cambridge Linguaskill programme. This initiative serves as a reliable pathway to higher education opportunities both locally and internationally, while also enhancing employability by aligning with global standards. Additionally, it fosters confidence in individuals, equipping them to thrive in both academic and professional environments. Students at Science College showed great enthusiasm and interest in learning about the programme.

Many expressed their eager ness to discover how Linguaskill could support their future goals. The principal and staff of Science College also provided their full support, ensuring the event was executed smoothly and successfully. This project marks the beginning of Times School of Higher Education’s journey in carrying out more community-focused initiatives across Sri Lanka. Through such programmes, the institution aims to create opportunities for young learners to experience the advantages of certified English proficiency and prepare them for the challenges of a globalised world. Looking ahead, Times School of Higher Education envisions expanding its community outreach by introducing a series of impactful programmes that go beyond language learning.

Future projects will focus on enhancing English proficiency, strengthening digital literacy through ICT awareness, nurturing the entrepreneurial spirit among youth, and shaping confident future leaders through leadership and personality development initiatives. By creating platforms for students to engage, learn, and innovate, Times School of Higher Education aims to contribute meaningfully to the personal growth and professional readiness of the younger generation, empowering them to meet the challenges of an ever-evolving global landscape.
