
The University of Colombo hosted a delegation from Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, India, this week. The visiting delegation was headed by Pro Vice Chancellor Dr Maneesha Vinodini Ramesh, who also serves as Dean, School for Sustainable Futures; Dean for International Programmes; and UNESCO Chair on Experiential Learning for Sustainable Innovation & Development.
She was accompanied by Sindhu Manoj, Associate Director for International Programmes, and Nitin Kumar, Program Manager, Amrita Centre for Wireless Networks. The delegation engaged in productive discussions with Prof Indika Mahesh Karunathilake, Vice Chancellor, on areas of common interest, including climate change resilience, entrepreneurship, disaster risk management, and sustainability, the university said.
The meeting was also attended by Dr Iroja Caldera, Director of the International Office. The discussions concluded with mutual interest in a Letter of Intent between the two institutions to further explore areas of common research and collaboration.
