A 21-member delegation from the Nat i o n a l D e f e n s e University (NDU) of Pakistan, led by Maj.Gen. Fiaz Hussain Shah was on a foreign study tour in Sri Lanka, earlier this week. The delegation comprised senior officers from Pakistan’s Armed Forces, Civil Services and Officers from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and China, who are following a National Security & War Course at NDU. The delegation visited the Pakistan High Commission (HC) for an interactive session on April 16.
Pakistan High Commissioner Maj.Gen.(Rtd) Dr Shahid Ahmad Hashmat briefed the delegates on the overall Pakistan-Sri Lanka bilateral relations and the role of the HC. During their foreign study visit, the delegates will meet with Commanders of the Sri Lankan Army, Air Force and Navy, Chief of Defense Staff and senior members of Civil Institutions. The delegates will a l s o vi s i t Ga l l e and Trincomalee.
The NDU is the premier institution in Pakistan, catering to the needs of senior leadership from various segments of society, both domestic and international, in comprehending security issues and policystrategy formulation, and acts as a national 'think tank'. It is a center of excellence in academic and research pursuits in diversified disciplines, providing well thought out inputs on national security at strategic level.
