Royal Institute International School proudly announces the successful culmination of the Ridhma concert, held in the evening of September 14th. Originally conceived last year under the theme Royal Reflection, Ridhma has now become a significant event in the Royal Institute’s calendar, thanks to the relentless efforts of our dedicated teachers, supportive staff and talented students. The concert highlighted the unity and teamwork of students and teachers from all five branches of Royal Institute, showcasing the school’s commitment to both academic and extracurricular excellence.

Ridhma has now become an enduring brand within RI, as a result of the pioneering efforts of a team of hardworking teachers who laid the foundation for this esteemed programme. The event featured over 500 students from all branches performing and displaying their exceptional oriental dance skills. The programme, lasting two hours and twenty minutes, was a vibrant celebration of Sri Lankan culture and history. It included 13 distinct items, each meticulously crafted to reflect the educational value of various cultural practices, historical events, and traditional industries.

Several performances, evoking significant historical moments, moved the audience to tears with their captivating depiction. The audience was highly engaged throughout the entire event and their enthusiastic responses and continuous applause reflected the appreciation they had for the level of talent and dedication displayed by the students. The warm support and engagement from the audience were key contributors to the concert’s success, making it an evening filled with celebration, admiration, and a shared appreciation for the students’ efforts.

We are proud to report that all available seats were occupied, underscoring the immense interest and support from the community who were deeply impressed by the students’ performances and the school’s dedication to promoting both academic and extracurricular achievements. The seamless execution and punctuality of the event were ensured by a remarkable support team working behind the scenes. The Ridhma concert was made possible by the combined efforts of 13 dance teachers, led by Mr. Roshan Dodangoda, and the chief organiser, Mr. H.A. Suraj, Vice-Principal of Royal Institute, Nugegoda. Their dedication and meticulous planning were instrumental in making this grand event a resounding success. Royal Institute continues to value and nurture both academic and extracurricular excellence, with Ridhma standing as a testament to our commitment to showcasing our students’ talents and celebrating our rich cultural heritage.
