A/L exam in December, if paper marking on schedule: Min
The Education Minister hopes to schedule- the 2024 Advanced Level (A/L) Examination in December. Since the Cabinet of Ministers had agreed to provide the necessary allowance for examiners who review A/L answer sheets for both this year and the last, answer sheet inspection is now being carried out without a hitch, Minister Susil Premajayantha said.
Examiners will now receive an allowance of Rs. 2000 instead of Rs. 1,450. Minister Premajayantha added that if the review of A/L answer sheets is concluded on schedule, the 2024 A/L Examination can take place in December of this year. Marking A/L answer sheets was discontinued recently due to controversy over allowances. Meanwhile, the Minister added, students will receive their textbooks and uniform supplies for the 2024 academic year after February 14. -NA
