
The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was formally signed by Mr. Bandula Egodage, Chairman of APIIT Sri Lanka, and Mr. Rajeev Amarasuriya, President of BASL and Attorney-at-Law, marking a significant collaboration between the two institutions
APIIT Law School entered into a cor- porate partnership with the Bar Association of Sri Lanka, the apex pro- fessional body representing Attorneys- at-Law in the country. The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was formally signed between Mr. Bandula Egodage, Chairman of APIIT S r i L a n k a , a n d M r. R a j e e v Amarasuriya, President of BASL and Attorney-at-Law, strengthening a strate- gic collaboration between the two insti- tutions.
Speaking at the occasion, Dr. Chathura Warnasuriya, Head of APIIT Law School, highlighted the importance of this partnership, noting that it would enhance cooperation between academia and the legal profession. He emphasised that collaboration with BASL is particu- larly meaningful, given its status as the leading professional body for lawyers in Sri Lanka. He further noted that all members of the Law School’s faculty are Attorneys-at-Law and active mem- bers of BASL, reinforcing the institu- tion’s strong professional foundation.
Addressing the gathering, Mr. Rajeev Amarasuriya, President of the Bar Association, appreciated APIIT joining the BASL cor porate par tnership scheme while recalling several collabo- rations between the two organisations in the past. Mr. Amarasuriya was confi- dent that this corporate partnership would be of mutual benefit to both insti- tutions and the wider legal community. In his remarks, Mr. Bandula Egodage described the collaboration as a momentous milestone in APIIT’s mis- sion to transform the education land- scape. He noted that the partnership would further inspire a passion for learning while nurturing future leaders capable of making meaningful contri- butions to society.
