APIIT Business School Launches Scholar Sphere Summit Workshop Series to Ignite a Research Renaissance
The APIIT Business School embarked on a groundbreaking journey with the inauguration of the Scholar Sphere Summit Workshop Series, at the APIIT auditorium on September 18, 2023. This initiative reflects APIIT’s commitment to nurturing a thriving research culture that aligns with its purpose of igniting a passion for the intrinsic value of learning. The Scholar Sphere Summit Workshop Series is tailored to instil undergraduate business students with the foundational tenets of research. This initiative aims to equip students with the knowledge and skills necessary to navigate the complex world of research, empowering them to become tomorrow’s innovators and thought leaders.
The inauguration ceremony, a gathering of academia and industry leaders, began with great enthusiasm. The keynote address was delivered by Professor Ravi Dissanayaka, who eloquently highlighted the pivotal role played by private higher education institutions like APIIT in driving innovation and fostering a research culture. He emphasized that fostering such an environment not only enriches academia but also contributes significantly to the socioeconomic progress of the nation. Following the keynote address, the event transitioned into an engaging panel discussion featuring eminent experts in research.
The panellists were Professor Arosha Adhikaram, Dr. Amali Wijekoon, Dr. Chathuni Jayasinghe, and Mr. Dhananath Fernando. Together, they delved into the significance of research and its profound impact on both budding academics and undergraduates. Professor Arosha Adhikaram passionately elucidated the transformative potency of research in shaping the destiny of young undergraduates. Dr. Amali Wijekoon underscored the significance of adhering to a systematic approach to research.
Dr. Chathuni Jayasinghe, spoke on the synergy between academia and industry, highlighting how such collaborations drive research that is pertinent to the business community. Finally, Mr. Dhananath Fernando, underscored research’s role as a catalyst for personal and professional growth. The panel discussion resonated deeply with the audience. As the Scholar Sphere Summit Workshop Series takes its first steps, it carries the promise of transforming education, kindling the spirit of inquiry among young minds, and making meaningful contributions to the global discourse on research and development.
