Homagama education zone to get 100 smart classrooms with STC support

The Warnodaya Smart School Project, an initiative of Transport, Highways, and Mass Media Minister Dr Bandula Gunawardena, aims to install 100 smart classrooms in 100 schools within the Homagama education zone. An awareness programme regarding the project was conducted at the Homagama Maha Vidyalaya on Tuesday (4). Each school will receive classrooms furnished with amenities like smart boards, laptops, internet connections, etc. The Sri Lanka State Trading Corporation (STC) has allocated 700,000 rupees and will be supplying the schools with the required equipment.

“In the coming months, the construction of an all-encompassing educational system necessary for digital instruction will become a reality. Meanwhile, we have implemented measures to set up smart classrooms in schools within the Homagama education zone, thanks to the efforts of the Western Provincial Council,” Minister Gunawardena said. Minister Gunawardena said the Ministry has handed over to the STC the task of furnishing the requisite equipment at the most affordable price. (NA)
