
Kandy, Sri Lanka – The Central Province witnessed a groundbreaking celebration of technology and innovation with the successful completion of Cybots’25: Robotics Summit and Expo, organized by the IT Society of NIBM Kandy in collaboration with the School of Computing and Engineering. The event brought together school students, university communities, and industry experts to showcase the transformative potential of robotics, AI, and IoT solutions.
Cybots’25 began with the Robotics Summit and Expo, which served as a dynamic platform for knowledge exchange between academia and industry. Experts highlighted the future of robotics in shaping smarter societies, while students and innovators displayed their creativity through exhibitions and interactive showcases.
A key highlight of the program was a series of hands-on robotics and IoT workshops tailored for school students in the Central Province. These workshops aimed to inspire the younger generation to pursue practically oriented STEM education and to enhance awareness of AI-driven robotics solutions.
Adding to the excitement, the event hosted Sri Lanka’s first-ever Robot Soccer Tournament for school participants, alongside a thrilling Robot Battle Competition for university students. Both competitions drew wide participation, reflecting the growing enthusiasm for robotics among the nation’s youth.
Speaking at the closing ceremony, the organizing committee emphasized that Cybots’25 is not just a one-time event, but the beginning of a movement to build a future-ready generation equipped with the skills to meet global technological challenges.
