The Indian High Commission in Colombo is calling applications for 200 fully-funded scholarships for Sri Lankan nationals to study in Indian institutes and universities. The scholarships offer Medical/ Paramedical, Fashion Design, and Law courses. The scholarships are offered for the 2024-2025 academic session. Three memorial scholarship schemes cover Business, Economics, Commerce, Humanities and Arts, Engineering, Information Technology Science, and Agriculture. The Nehru Memorial Scholarship Scheme covers undergraduate/postgraduate and PhD courses in Engineering, Science, Business, Economics, Commerce, Humanities, and Arts.
The Maulana Azad Scholarship Scheme offers Masters Degrees courses in Engineering, Science and Agriculture, while the Rajiv Gandhi Scholarship Scheme offers under graduate courses in Information Technology, leading to a Bachelor of Engineering and Bachelor of Technology. The scholarship schemes would cover the full tuition fees for the entire duration of the course, monthly sustenance allowance, and annual grant for books and stationery. Air fare to the nearest destination in India and an annual grant for educational tours to various parts of the country, and several auxiliary benefits are also offered.
Selected candidates would be provided hostel facilities inside the respective campus. The Indian government will select candidates in consultation with the Sri Lanka Education Ministry.
