Printing delay postpones tests in North Western Province

The second term tests in schools in the North Western Province are expected to resume on July 21, after a disruption of four days, after the printers failed to provide the printed question papers on time.
The NWP Education Director Muditha Dayananda said that due to the failure to provide the relevant question papers on time, the term tests for students from Grade 6 to 11 had to be postponed. Accordingly, examinations due on July 15, 16, 17 and 20 were postponed, affecting students in some 700 schools in the province.
However, they were able to conduct the examinations for Grade 12 and 13 as the printers had provided the relevant question papers. The director said that to minimise inconvenience to students they were able to hold the practical examinations during the four days where they were unable to conduct the examinations. The director declined to identify the printers who have undertaken the printing. (HPJ)
