‘A Night in Paris’ with NCHS

The Nawaloka College of Higher Studies together with the Swinburne University of Technology celebrated its 4th graduation on the 26th of October, at the Galadari Hotel, Colombo. The event was held under the patronage of Hon. Dr. Wijedasa Rajapakshe, M.P. Minister of Higher Education and Cultural Affairs, Sri Lanka. The Graduation was thereafter followed by the Graduation Ball which was held with pomp and pageant. ‘A night in Paris’, marked the end of an exciting journey at NCHS. The young ladies in their dazzling gowns looked their best, together with the gentleman who looked suave in their suits. Students, alumni, management, staff and well wishers danced the night away under the skillfully crafted, Eiffel Tower, and the tunes of Tehan, together with Hot Chocolate. Dr. Alan Robertson Dean of Studies NCHS, stated that ‘A Night in Paris’ was the perfect opportunity for the students and staff to unwind and celebrate the arduous journey successfully completed, together.

Speaking about NCHS, he explained that at a time when there is an increasing need of high quality education that meets the needs of the market, NCHS is proud to have partnered with two of the leaders in higher education internationally. The Swinburne University of Technology as well as the California State Universities, take pride is providing an education that is relevant to the industry. Thereby, creating graduates who are employable and have the skill set required in leaders. “We are proud to have been an active contributor to the country’s knowledge based economic growth through our education system. At a time when there is a great demand for higher quality education which meets challenging global competition NCHS has taken many steps in fulfilling this macro national agenda” he added. “We all chose NCHS for various reasons. Yet at NCHS, we all learnt the meaning and value of hard work and success” Rishani Hansika Mediwaka, a graduating student said. She added that the universities mandate and ethos ensured that the students received a life changing experience.
