Celebrating Academic Triumph
ACBT Graduation Ceremony 2024 19th January 2024 at BMICH
On the auspicious evening of January 19, 2024, the Bandaranaike Memorial International Conference Hall (BMICH) bore witness to the grandeur of the graduation ceremony hosted by ACBT, in association with Middlesex University London and Pearson. The event marked not only the culmination of academic endeavors but also a celebration of the hard work and dedication exhibited by the graduating students.
The ceremony was graced by the presence of esteemed guests, with Professor Howard Nicholos, a Sri Lankan-born economist and social scientist, retired professor in Economics at the International Institute of Social Studies (ISS) of the Erasmus University of Rotterdam, a luminary in academia, serving as the Chief Guest. His inspirational words resonated with the audience, leaving an indelible mark on the graduates as they embarked on their next journey. Accompanying Professor Nicholos were Ms. Premila Paulraj, the Director of Employability and Qualifications at Pearson, South Asia; Ms. Nimanthi Yatawara, Assistant Manager Customer Services at the British Council; Mr. Shafkhaan Faris, Manager-Sri Lanka, Cambridge University Press & Assessment English; and Ms. Wu Lingling, Lecturer in Foreign Trade, Zhejiang Guangxia Construction Vocational and Technical University, each in their own presence.
Under the guidance of Principal, Professor Chandana Aluthge and Associate Dean Professor Wasanthi Madurapperuma, ACBT has consistently strived for academic excellence with its well qualified and experienced panel of lecturers. Their leadership has played a pivotal role in shaping the educational landscape at ACBT. The event saw a multitude of graduates eagerly looking forward to their future endeavors, be they pursuing higher education or venturing into the professional realm to achieve their career goals. The diverse array of aspirations showcased the versatility and potential of the graduating class.
