The Women’s Day celebration organized by the United Nations Association of Sri Lanka, held on 22nd of March,2025 at Sri Lanka Foundation Institute, was a noteworthy event which recognized female role models leading the nation in various fields. The event was graced by the presence of Dr. Harini Amarasooriya, Honourable Prime Minister and Minister of Education, and Mr. Vijitha Herath, Honourable Minister of Foreign Affairs.

A highlight of the event was the recognition of Dr. (Mrs.) Kumari Grero, the Consultant Coordinating Principal of Lyceum International Schools and the Principal of Lyceum Nugegoda, who was honoured for her exceptional leadership in, and contribution to education in Sri Lanka. Dr. Grero has dedicated 32 years to shaping the future of Sri Lanka’s younger generation. As an individual with a passion for learning and a dedication to teaching and positive change, her influence extends beyond academics. She will continue to inspire women in leadership.
