“Talent is nothing without dedication and discipline, and dedication and discipline is a talent in itself”. —Luke Campbell
Former British professional boxer. Education is the pathway to a better future for a Nation. Being dedicated and working tirelessly for education, produces a fruitful result. The great result breaks down tough hindrances. Our students of Lyceum Nuwara Eliya have proven the power of hard work and determination through the ultimate results that they have obtained. Despite all the struggles in the examination, they showed their highest performance, and today, they represent themselves shining as District Rank holders.
Today, the day of appreciation was held for the students who worked hard to attain the highest ranks at the highly competitive examination in Sri Lanka. As a token of appreciation, our Lyceum Nuwara Eliya branch Management organized an “Appreciation Awarding Ceremony” for the students who got District Ranks in G.C.E. Advanced Level Examination 2021. This ceremony was organized on the 23rd of September 2022, at the school auditorium. It was an honorable moment for all along with the participation of our Chief Guest, Dr. Mahendra Senevirathna, the Director of the General hospital Nuwara Eliya and Guest of Honour, Mrs. Yadharshana Puthirasigamani, the Deputy Mayor. A/L Examination 2021.
In his address, Chief Guest Dr. Mahendra Senevirathna shared his valuable thoughts with the audience. He marked the significance of “appreciating” such achievements of students and how it affects their self-confidence of them while encouraging other students equally. He appreciated the school immensely for organizing such an event with this specific purpose. One of the most admired thoughts he shared was that “success” wasn't a destination; but rather a “journey” that should continue. The Lyceum family congratulates all the students who placed the Lyceum community on top and made us feel proud. In addition, we wish all our students who faced their examinations successfully and gained great results for their undying efforts. Furthermore, we believe that all our students will be at a great height in their academic lives in the future and become great global citizens.
