Tuesday, 21st of August 2018

ICBT Campus and British Council entered in to an agreement today, to incorporate British Council English assessment to the ICBT HND. This is a new partnership agreement between ICBT and British Council Sri Lanka, where students who study for HND programs at ICBT campus will benefit from internationally benchmarked English assessment, as part of the course. Aptis is a business to business solution, used by government entities, all over the world to benchmark levels of English. Aptis tests grammar, vocabulary and language skill components (speaking, writing, reading and listening). Each test taker completes a grammar and vocabulary test followed by the English language skill components.

The test result is based on the Common European Framework of Language reference (CEFR) from A1 – C. Gill Caldicott the country director of British Council Sri Lanka acknowledged that ICBT has been a long standing partner for UK qualifications working with higher education providers of the UK for 18 years. We have also been working with ICBT for delivery of IELTS in Sri Lanka. It is only natural that we are now venturing in to another enduring partnership with Aptis, tiying up with the ICBT HND, providing an English proficiency assessment which is internationally benchmarked, through the British Council. The Aptis assessment is a computer based test, by the British Council. It can be delivered through a range of devices from desktops to tablets.

Therefore is a scalable, flexible and a reliable English assessment tool used for a variety of proficiency testing requirements in government, education or corporate contexts, with results delivered within 48 hrs Dr. Sampath Kannagara the CEO of ICBT said that ICBT Campus has always lead from the front in the private sector higher education industry in Sri lanka and has introduced timely and demand driven qualifications and value added educational programs to Sri Lankan students. APTIS English assessment to ICBT HND students will help them to assess their English language proficiency for further study and employment. For more information, please call 4 777 888 or visit
