The University of Sri Jayewardenepura held the “Pradeepa Pranama - 2025” awards ceremony last week, at Waters Edge Hotel, Battaramulla. The event was attended by Speaker Jagath Wickramaratne as chief guest, and Chancellor Most Ven Dr Ittapana Dhammalankara Thero as guest of honour. Vice Chancellor Senior Professor Pathmalal M Manage also participated in the ceremony. The event recognised 66 distinguished alumni for their contributions to various fields, including public service, entrepreneurship, academia, research, education, sports, and social and religious service.

The recipients comprised government officials, ministry secretaries, department heads, scholars, and leaders from multiple sectors. The Pradeepa Pranama awards celebrate the achievements of the university’s alumni who have made significant contributions to the country. This annual event continues to highlight the impact of graduates in shaping national development across diverse domains.
