J’Pura Uni’s ICMA 2024 conference unites academics and industry professionals

The University of Sri Jayewardenepura hosted the 10th International Conference on Multidisciplinary Approaches (ICMA), organised by the Faculty of Graduate Studies (FGS) this week. The event served as a platform for academics and industry professionals to exchange insights and experiences in various fields, contributing to national and global development, according to the university. The conference covered diverse disciplines including engineering, physical sciences, health sciences, humanities, social sciences, and management and finance.

The theme was ‘Towards Global Knowledge through Multidisciplinary Research’; and participants explored innovative approaches to address contemporary challenges. Vice Chancellor Senior Professor Pathmalal M Manage was the chief guest at the event, and Dean of Graduate Studies Professor P P Rasika Perera was the Conference Chair. Emeritus Professor of Demography Professor Indralal De Silva delivered a keynote address, enriching the discourse with scholarly insights. Mr A H M Atheeq, representing the Faculty of Graduate Studies, assumed the role of Conference Secretary, ensuring the smooth execution of proceedings. The event focused on technological innovation, environmental pollution and natural resources management, health sciences and nutrition, humanities and social sciences, life sciences, and management, commerce, governance, and industry development.
