Deadline to apply for 2022 A/L exams extended to November 4
The Exams Department has extended the closing date for applications for the correction of the 2022 A/L exams by two weeks. The new closing date for applications will be November 4, and applicants have been asked to apply online. The exams are scheduled to be held from January 23 to February 17, next year. The Ceylon Teachers Union (CTU) which had planned to hold a protest against the non-payment of arrears to teachers who corrected papers from the 2021 A/L exams, said they would give the Government time till November 4, to make the overdue payments.
It was learned arrears of Rs.10 million were due to teachers who corrected papers from the 2021 A/L exams which were held from February 7 to March 5 this year. A sum of Rs. 5 million was also due to teachers who corrected papers from the 2021 O/L exams held in May 2022. A CTU spokesperson said firm action would be taken if the payments were not sorted out before November 4. -CC
