Sunday, 9th of September 2018

Students of Ralapanawa Vidyalaya in Nawagaththegama came in for a shock when they returned to start their new school term this week. A herd of wild elephants had passed through the school, destroying the fence around their Volleyball court. The damage is especially heartbreaking, given that, the students have won many Volleyball championships. The fence had been built a few years ago at a cost of Rs 700,000. School authorities have informed Education officials of the matter.
