Ensuring students receive a head-start towards their higher education goals, SLIIT, the nation’s leading non- state higher education institute announced the commencement of its January 2020 intake for Undergraduate Degree Programmes. The programme offered by the Department of Quantity Surveying in the Faculty of Engineering, SLIIT is enriched with the involvement of highly qualified academics and professionals such as Quantity Surveyors, Engineers, Lawyers and other subject specialists. From its inception, the department has been headed by both academically and professionally qualified Quantity Surveyors. The Department offers a three-year B.Sc. (Hons) in Quantity Surveying Degree awarded by the Liverpool John Moores University United Kingdom for School leavers.

It also offers a top-up degree for those who are already practising in the industry and with an accepted HND/Edexel/NVQ level 6 or equivalent qualification for entrance. The Quantity Surveying Degree programmes offer students a unique opportunity to collaborate with foreign students and academics in addition to wide knowledge and experience shared by leading academics and Quantity Surveying practitioners from Sri Lanka. SLIIT QS programme leads in providing knowledge and hands-on experience in modern day technologies in QS such as BIM and CostX for its students to become internationally competitive and future-proof.

Built upon the degree offered in UK, the programme also includes essential local knowledge to assure both local and international relevance of the programme. QS Students are also eligible to apply for the postgraduate studies scholarship offered by Liverpool John Moores University UK for SLIIT students. January Intake applications can be obtained from SLIIT campus, SLIIT regional centres and the website. Duly filled applications should be forwarded to the Manager – Student Enrolment, SLIIT Campus Malabe. Prospective students are required to undertake an aptitude test, available in all three languages at the SLIIT test centres; Colombo, Malabe, Matara, Kandy, Kurunegala and Jaffna.
