ICBT Kandy Campus, Champions of Sri Lankan Robotics Challenge (SLRC 2019)

Students from ICBT Campus Kandy became the University Category Champions of Robotics Challenge 2019 organized by the University of Moratuwa held on the 20th of October at the Civil Auditorium of University of Moratuwa. The team comprising Chathuranga Karunarathna, St. Thomas College Matale. Dinuka Rajapaksha, Maliyadeva Boys College Kurunegala. Nelaka Abeyratne, Kegulu College Kegalle and Ruchika Rathnayaka BSc Hons Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Trinity College Kandy. All students are currently following BSc in Electrical and Electronics Engineering at ICBT campus offered by University of Sunderland UK Sri Lankan Robotics Challenge (SLRC) has become one of the most awaited events in the technology calendar of technology enthusiasts of Sri Lanka and has gained the interest from island-wide to the international community.

The competition takes place under two categories; SLRC University category competition and SLRC school category competition. This category provides an opportunity for university undergraduates to participate in an international level robotics competition and gain a lifetime experience along with the exposure to the newest technology innovations in the industry. The Winners of University category in Sri Lankan Robotics Challenge 2019 is Team Neo-RX from ICBT Kandy. First Runnerup of University category in Sri Lankan Robotics Challenge 2019 was team Circuit Breakers from University of Moratuwa and the second Runner-up of University category in Sri Lankan Robotics Challenge 2019 was Team White Walkers from University of Ruhuna. ICBT campus delivers range of Honors degrees in engineering in association with the University of Sunderland UK, Liver pool John Moores University the UK and Birmingham City University the UK. All Degrees are academically controlled and quality assured by the UK.
